As gift for his daughter, William duPont built this home on his Bellevue Mansion property for Marion duPont and her husband, G. Randolf Scott. Although her marriage to the popular actor dissolved, her love of the home and the area brought her back year after year. Following her death, the surrounding property was developed for corporate use, but the home remained for its historic interest.
MGZA, with client PNC Realty Services, retained the exterior of the home as it was repurposed for use as a corporate staff cafeteria. The Bellevue Mansion cafe is located on the world headquarters campus of PNC Global Investment Servicing in Delaware. Although the interior of the building was substantially altered to support the code and technical requirements of the new use, MGZA respected and retained elements in public areas that would tell the story of the building's past.
